Abu Dhabi hotels to open

CT Abu Dhabi shares guidelines with UAE capital’s hotels in advance of granting approval to resume trading after closure enforced by COVID-19 pandemic

words Derek Issacs

It’s great that soon we can all head back to our favourite haunts in hotels across the emirate but we’ll all have to follow strict rules, as will hotels.

In shared detailed guidelines sent to the emirate’s hotels, DCT Abu Dhabi has said that if hotel facilities such as gyms, pools, bars, restaurants, beaches and so on are to open, then the following has to happen:

  • Outlets only to be open from 6am to 7pm only
  • Hand sanitisers at all outlet entrances
  • Seperate exit and entrance points
  • Thermal cameras
  • Crowd control measures
  • Social distancing
  • Emergency isolating room
  • Masks to be worn at all times
  • Smart payment to be encouraged
  • Four people per table only
  • 2. 5 mtres between each table
  • Only people of determination to use lifts and escalators
  • 30% capacity at each establishment

Returning employees will need to undergo a COVID_19 test before going back to work, and every two weeks thereafter.

Temperature checks will be carried out on all staff on a regular basis throughout working hours, with staff also trained for emergency response protocols regarding COVID-19.
