The National Screening Programme is to expand free Covid-19 testing in densley-populated residential complexes across the capital.

The move is a partnership between the Department of Health-Abu Dhabi and the relevant authorities, according to the the UAE National Agency.

The aim of the partnership is to screen the largest possible number of residents living in heavily populated housing areas across the emirate.

The campaign, which began Saturday, 30th May, will provide access to healthcare services for all sections of society, and further regulate and manage the testing process.

It is also part of the overall strategy to increase COVID-19 testing to curb the spread of the virus while maintaining and safeguarding public health.

On 29th March of this year, we reported that two drive-thru testing centres had opened in the capital.

These, along with expansion of free testing, shows how the UAE has been at the forefront of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
