Abu Dhabi Radars To Catch Rule Violators

In order to ensure road safety for all, Abu Dhabi Police will start using cameras very soon to track rule violators.

The cameras will capture people that do not use their seatbelts while driving and those that use their mobile phones while driving.

This new system is set to be put in to place on 1 January 2021.

The Vehicular Attention and Safety Tracker (VAST) system uses artificial intelligence to detect if the driver is using their phone while driving or if they do not have their seatbelts on by capturing high-resolution pictures of the driver.

On detecting these issues, an SMS will be sent to the individual stating the violation.
