The 11th edition of the Pink Caravan Ride will take place in February 2021. It is an annual UAE-based breast cancer awareness initiative of the non-profit, Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP).
The caravan ride will start off in Sharjah, going through all the emirates, and will feature participants from equestrian clubs from across the UAE.
The aim of the ride is to raise public understanding of the importance of regular self and medical examinations. It will also offer free medical consultation over 42 days and will train UAE residents on how to take a self-examination.
From 3 February to 30 March 2021, clinics across the UAE will offer free mammograms, clinical examinations, and self-examination training sessions for both men and women.
The Pink Caravan Ride has emphasised that community awareness, early detection, and regular self-examination are powerful tools for improving breast cancer outcomes and could lead to a 98% cure rate.
To make this campaign even more successful, the 2021 ride will see the participation of 7 Pink Caravan ambassador riders, alongside a team of volunteers, doctors, nurses, and supporting medical staff across the country.
