800 Exhibitors Expected At Abu Dhabi Book Fair

Over 800 exhibitors from 46 countries will participate in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair that will run from 23 to 29 May, with seminars, programmes and activities held on the ground.

The Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi has announced that all publishing houses that are a part of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair are exempt from paying a participation fee.

The initiative was launched by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Learning Language in an effort to support the publishing industry amid the challenges faced due to the ongoing pandemic.

His Excellency Dr Ali Bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Learning Language said, “The exemption of publishing houses from paying participation fees reflects the interest in the cultural and knowledge sector. Participation to reduce the burden on them and enable them to attend the exhibition, which will provide them with a qualitative platform for dialogue as well as other available opportunities the will benefit them.”

Individuals attending the book fair need to be vaccinated and above the age of seventeen.

Visitors, exhibitors and participants need to provide a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of attending the event.

To attend the event, an electronic card is required which is available on the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair website or on the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair App.
