The Ministry of Health and Prevention has announced that 12 to 15-year-old children can now receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
The approval for the emergency local use of the vaccine has been given after clinical trials and strict assessments were conducted.
The use of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for the 12 to 15 age group is in line with the national vaccination programme in order to ensure the safety of individuals from coronavirus COVID-19.
The UAE has currently administered over 11 million doses of the vaccines to all citizens and residents and plans to provide 100% vaccination by 2021.
