The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has announced that only vaccinated individuals will be allowed to enter certain public places.
The change will take place from Friday, 20 August.
The first phase will include shopping centres, restaurants, cafes, retail outlets, gyms, recreational facilities and sporting activities, health clubs, resorts, museums, cultural centres, theme parks, universities, institutes, public and private schools and children nurseries.
Individuals with vaccination exemptions received through the official and approved process as well as children aged 15 and under are exempted.
The decision was made in order to curb the pandemic and protect the public’s health.
Currently, over 93% of target groups have been vaccinated in Abu Dhabi.
